xTune is a unique enterprise collaboration application designed for locating and sharing expertise within an organization. xTune enables employees within an organization to connect with the right people who are experts in a specific topic or field of work and ask for their assistance.

Communication takes place within swarms of experts which are organized around shared objects: ideas, problems or projects. With xTune the right expertise can be gathered effectively from across the organization for projects or other resourcing needs. Problem solving becomes faster and experts are able to make better decisions together. At the same time the management gets a new and up-to-date view on personnel skills and interest within the organization.

Typically these kind of solutions for mapping, managing and sharing expertise are stiff and bureaucratic. This is because the solutions are designed for management purposes not for the employees. xTune is a user-friendly and visually motivating application meant for the whole organization. xTune enables everyone to share ideas, problems or projects and creates a "swarm" of experts to work on it.

xTune does not compete with Sharepoint or other intranet systems and it can be fully integrated into existing intranet systems.

xTune uses advanced application programming interfaces (API) which enable organizations to integrate their existing HR or intranet systems with xTune smoothly and without any lengthy IT-projects.

Identity management can be easily integrated to your existing Active Directory (LDAP/AD). Therefore users do not have to remember separate usernames or passwords. They can simply use the same login information as in the other systems the organization utilizes. AD/LDAP integration also enables automated user management which means that xTune users can be created, updated and deleted automatically. Also personal information (name, department, location, email) can be retrieved from the LDAP/AD server, therefore users do not have to fill in the same information repeatedly. This also speeds up the implementation phase and facilitates the usage.

In addition to the identity management integration we have implemented different Single Sign-On (SSO) methods. With SSO users do not have to input their passwords or usernames to login to xTune. The user only has to login to the organization's intranet or other similar system.

xTune's interfaces enable the transfer of any information to other systems. For example all the information on xTune´s user profiles (skills, interests, achievements) can be transferred into other existing systems. Organization´s search engines (intranet, etc.) can also be integrated with xTune making it possible to do searches in xTune using the organization’s intranet.

There are two ways to start using xTune:

  2. Registering to the service on your own is also fast and easy:

    • You need a company email to register at www.xtune.fi. Registration will only take a moment and you will only have to input your email and password.
    • After registration, the user must pay the first monthly fee. Payment can be done with most credit cards. After this the service ready to be used and the first user will become organization's internal xTune hub´s administrator (main user).
    • Rest of the personnel can register to the service simply using their company emails.

NB!

Company specific information can be viewed by all of the employees. Personnel belonging to the same organization are recognized based on their email domain. For example; profile registered for the same email domain (@corporation.com) can be viewed by those who have the same domain (@corporation.com).

Administrators (main users) can invite external users with different email domains to their organization's internal xTune community.

In case your organization has a large amount of personnel, contact us and we will analyze the needs of your organization and make an offer based on the analysis. The offer will contain a proposal for a supervised evaluation and trial period and for a fixed monthly fee after the trial period is over.

xTune can also be implemented independently. Implementation and the first month costs 49€ + VAT. After this the monthly fee will be 3€/user (+VAT)

There are two payment methods; either using PayPal or separately agreed invoicing with a fixed monthly fee.

When using PayPal, you are not required to hand any billing information to Intunex Ltd. You can create your own PayPal user account, but it is not necessary. You can simply use PayPal to pay with your credit card without any registration.

xTune is a business application made with the latest and most robust internet technologies. Personal information is held according to the Personal Data Protection Act and is not given to any third parties. The priority is to guarantee the continuous usage of the service, to prevent any unauthorized access to information or systems and to prevent deliberate or accidental corruption of information.

xTune is mainly provided as a fully exclusive SAAS (on-demand software) service, which means that the software and associated data are centrally hosted on the cloud. Intunex is responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting the service. The application is web browser based and works on all operating systems and is supported by most browsers. The application has been built on Apache, MySQL and PHP – technologies. xTune uses the newest and most efficient protocols and its servers are maintained on officially certified secure locations.

Forgotten password

If you have forgotten your password go to https://xtune.fi/pg/register/forgotten_password/ and click “Forgot password?” After this submit the email address you have used to register to xTune.

A confirmation email will be sent to your email with a link to change your password. This assures that only You can change your password. The link sent to your email will direct you to a web page that has a “Reset password” function. After resetting your password an email containing your new password will be sent to your email. You can now login using the new password.

Changing password after login

You can change your password by logging into xTune and using the navigation bar in the upper right corner. Select Settings and from the bottom menu select Password. After changing the password the new one will be valid immediately.

You can invite new users to your organization´s internal xTune hub (f.e. @intunex.com) with the “I work with”-function and by giving the email address of the user you want to invite (firstname.surname@intunex.com). The user must have a valid company email.

Only company specific email domains are accepted. This ensures that regular users can not invite external/unknown users to the service by accident. The administrator (main user) can invite users with any email domain to their organization´s internal xTune hub. This can be done by selecting the Administration menu and using the “Add new user” function.
